In the Mac World
On the Mac, even though I usually just log-in to my Wordpress Admin page, I sometimes post with ecto. Ecto is the equivalent of w.bloggar for Windows. w.bloggar is free for Windows. I meant to write about my (perception) of exorbitant rates for macintosh software, but haven’t yet gotten around to it.
Now, believe it or not, I’ve been a software stealer for quite some time. I can’t afford to pay $1000.00 for a macromedia or adobe suite of software. I suppose I could get it legally from school for free, but haven’t quite had the time.
—-ANYWAY
I’ve never been a big organizer, but there are definitely some very useful functions from something that just popped up heavily in the blogosphere–iGTD. Merlin Mann, blogger of 43folders, recently wrote a review that helped me head on over.
Basically, the app allows you to create several different projects or categories in which you can place various things that need to ‘get done.’ The name, iGTD, stands for (getting things done.) Merlin Mann helped start the ‘revolution’ of getting things done–or better, blogged about it.
Furthermore, on the subject of high-priced mac apps that would probably be more popular at a lower or FREE rate: (haha, of course they would be) Sticky Windows. The functionality of the app is simple: drag the window to the side of the screen and a little ‘tab’ is created. The author wants 20.00. If you sign up quickly enough, you can get it for 15.00. To me, it’s a little much. My impulsive buying doesn’t quite go that far. If it was 3-5, I would probably snatch it up quite quickly.
There are a few more apps I could write about that, if they were a little less, I would gladly fork over UNDER 5 dollars for.
Oh well, sorry for ranting.
Oh, and if you’re the developer, sorry. I’d love to own the product, but my brain tells me it’s not worth 15.00.
*It’s worth noting that the product is well-polished and extremely … well, good-working. (HA, nice word)
Oh, would it be possible to get a registration code so that I can write a journalistic review, Giovanni Donelli?
